GRADES 6–9 · LAUNCHING 2027
Youth Cycling
A next ride for kids who are ready to go farther.

In 2027, Cycling On Purpose plans to launch a small founding Youth Cycling cohort for students in grades 6–9 in the Liberty Lake area.

This won’t be a racing team. It’s a place for kids to build cycling skills, make friends, take on an age-appropriate challenge, and discover what they’re capable of.

One program. Different challenges.

A sixth grader and a ninth grader aren’t at the same place physically or developmentally. The founding Youth Cycling program will give riders different ways to progress while still being part of one shared community.

GRADES 6-7
Build toward 25 miles.

Riders will focus on bike-handling skills, riding safely in a group, building confidence, exploring farther, and gradually increasing their distance.

The goal is to work toward a meaningful 25-mile capstone ride, not to see who can get there the fastest.

GRADES 8-9
Build toward 50 miles.

Older riders will build greater endurance, independence, teamwork, and responsibility as they prepare for a more demanding challenge.

The goal is to work toward a 50-mile capstone ride while building friendships that can help make the transition from middle school to high school a little easier.

Our goal os for the season to culminate in a challenging, capstone ride here in Liberty Lake, giving riders something real to train toward together.

NOT JUST ANOTHER SPORTS COMMITMENT
Designed to fit into a kid's life.

Youth Cycling isn’t intended to replace soccer, baseball, school activities, family time, or the other things kids already love.

We’re designing it as a focused cycling season with progressive group rides leading toward a meaningful capstone challenge—not another year-round commitment.

The goal isn’t to create elite cyclists. It’s to help kids discover what they’re capable of, build confidence and resilience, make new friends, and learn how much farther they can go together.

FOUNDING COHORT · 2027
Interested in Youth Cycling?

We’re building the founding program now and expect to keep the first cohort intentionally small.

Join the interest list and we’ll keep you updated as the schedule, training plan, volunteer team, and registration process take shape.

Joining the list doesn’t commit you to participating.
